As travel-writer Dolores is making her way through Provence in order to complete a gay-friendly tour guide of the region she meets Irma, who has just lost her husband and her job. Although the two women are initially thrown together by circumstance, they decide to set out on a journey that will transform both of them forever. As the women make their way through small provincial towns they encounter an eclectic collection of real people and places, encouraging them to open up to each other and to the world around them. Carefully captured in a hybrid documentary-fiction mode, SOMETHING IS HAPPENING is a road movie built with profundity and humanity.
