Event Details

Come as you are with your heart and open mind to experience dance that becomes a moving prayer filled with love.   Come to one or more sessions – whatever calls you will be the right place for you to be.

For our first evening on Friday we will be “tasting” sacred dance appetizers with various facilitators and meeting our main facilitator for the weekend, Helena Froehlich. Helena’s passion is to develop awareness, share the beauty and expression of dance, and build community through dance as a spiritual experience.

We are made of energy vibrating through matter at different speeds, E=mc2. Our nervous system communicates with our body by sending and receiving electrical signals, our bodies are electro-magnetic in nature and the whole universe is made up of particles, waves and surrounded by electro-magnetic fields. Max Planck called this soup of energy the “Divine Matrix.” Our emotions and thoughts, as well as our bodies, are energy in motion, so we can learn to direct our energy and intention for our highest good.

On Saturday we will dance and develop breath and awareness as we raise this energy and let it flow through our bodies and movement, learning Moving Prayers and dancing from the heart! We will bridge the spiritual and the scientific by harnessing the electro-magnetic fields of energy and our power of spiritual intent.

We will practice praying with our whole energy: mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. We will experience our energy and guide it through a clear and easy- to-follow pattern of specific movements and intention. Participants will receive a hand-out of this moving prayer to use by themselves and in their communities.

We will also create and learn a dance piece together for the Sunday service. As we dance, we will practice how we can nurture and radiate our own energy, the energy of our group dancing and how we relate and support each other while dancing, and how we can relate to the congregation and help everyone raise their energy.

On Saturday evening we will come together with others from the community (open to all – donations only) for a Labyrinth walk and a Moving Mandala Meditation.

Our events on Sunday are optional but participation is encouraged! On Sunday morning, participants will bring a dance and prayer offering to the regular Sunday service of Bells Corners United Church, our dance weekend hosts.

Come dance with us! No dance experience necessary.

About our facilitator:
