Welcome to the CNSA 2017 Western-Prairie Regional Conference, held in the heart of downtown Vancouver. 

The theme of the conference, Bridging the Gap: Nursing Vulnerable Populations, was sparked by the current opioid crisis and the people affected in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Since then, it has branched out to include other vulnerable groups such as the Indigenous peoples of Canada, sex trade workers, the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants and refugees, amongst others.

The goal of this conference is to challenge you, as future nursing leaders, to broaden your thinking, recognize the different social determinants of health at play with each population group, and hopefully be inspired to enact change in your respective communities.
